All the information you need to know for your Arrival at West Point House

Thank you for choosing to stay at West Point House!
Welcome to West Point House, our superior self - catering accommodation. Please read below all you need to know regarding your stay to make your check in stress-free and smooth sailing - ready to settle in and make yourself at home!​

  • When you turn into West Shore Road, the second turning on the right takes you onto Eden Avenue, this road bends round to the left and you are now on Solway Drive. 
  • Not too far down you will see a large Grey building on the right hand side. This is West Point House.
  • You have arrived! You can park anywhere in the car park and there is an over flow car park behind the property.

What next? 

​
  • If we have arranged a contactless check in; you will have received a message saying the pin for the KeyPad and which room you are staying in and where to locate your key. Alternatively, if you have asked for a show around a member of staff will be in the office in the reception area and will show you around and to your room.
  • There is a key fob on your key ring which you can use throughout your stay to gain access to the property. Simply press it against the door bell to unlock the front door.
  • See the directions to your room which is on the wall ahead of you in the reception area.

Our shared facilities

Our shared living spaces are located down the corridor straight ahead of you as you enter the building. 

Our generous sized lounge and dining area has high ceilings and big windows giving the room a light and airy feel. The smart Tv ( which also has Sky ) is shared with all guests. You also have a TV in your bedroom. 

The door to our picturesque garden is to the right of the dinning area which has table and chairs

Smoking shelter is to the right as you go out into the garden. 

Our large kitchen area is fully stocked with all you may need to cook up a hearty dish or even a quick meal. We have plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, mugs and cups - the list goes on! 

Each guest has an allocated shelf space in the Fridge, Freezers and Cupboards. Freezers are located through the open doorway to the right as you go into the kitchen. On departure please empty your shelves. 

When washing up, please rinse and place in the dishwashers provided and our housekeeping team will operate these and empty on a daily basis. 

Help yourself to Tea and Coffee throughout your stay! 

​​Additional things to know: 

  • Check in from 2pm - Check out 10am. ( Please don't leave your room key in your room on departure. Please post this in the white letter box which is on the wall in the reception area. Thank you! 
  • Wifi code WPH29076
  • Laundry Service is available and returned within 24 hours (£10 for a full load)
  • Hairdryers are available on request 
  • Ironing board and Iron can be found where the freezers are
  • We only service rooms for stays that are minimum 7 nights (on certain room rates only) 
  • Over flow parking is behind West Point House (Electric chargers are in the main carpark)

We highly recommend the Crown Pub. They also offer West Point House guests 10% off food! In the summer they have a lovely Pub garden to enjoy a nice pub meal and a cool beverage. They are very popular so we do recommend to book in advance if you wish to dine here. 

The Round House Hub and Cafe is located on Biggar Bank and has beautiful panoramic views of the shore. On a clear day you can see Isle of Man and Black Combe. ( Open most days 10 - 4)

Tavs Burger Van - Only a 5 minute walk away. They serve hot and cold food and has plenty of picnic benches outside. Popular with Bikers! 

Places to Visit

Earnse Bay Beach is a small sand and shingle beach. It is only a 8 minute walk away! This beach is popular with windsurfing and in the evening is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. 
If you walk to the right across the bay this leads to the North Walney Nature Reserve. There are lovely views towards Black Combe and is the perfect spot for bird watching. 

The Dock Museum is located across the bridge and left at the traffic lights. There's lots to see for people of all ages. There's themed galleries, quizzes, cafe, playground, picnic tables, free parking and free WiFi. Museum shop with gifts for all ages.
