Our rooms are ideal for guests working in the area; we offer both weekly & nightly rates. Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable & hassle free as possible. Priding ourselves on the cleanliness of our house we endeavour to give everyone a ‘home from home’
Your room rate includes all necessary furnishings, bed linen and towels. Our longer stay guests often book out the same room for their duration.This enables them to lock up & leave for weekend - no need to pack up on a Friday only to unpack again on a Monday! All guests have full use of all the facilities; comfortably furnished lounge, fully equipped kitchen, walled garden with decking and BBQ, as well as secure on-site parking with electric car charging points and locked storage, great for bikes or golf clubs. Our friendly housekeeping team are on hand to help with any questions you may have and will service your room on a weekly basis.

Why should I choose West Point House over any other accommodation in the Barrow area?
We offer superior business accommodation in a peaceful and pleasant residential location. All our facilities are quite simply the best in the area – Our rooms are of the highest standard and serviced weekly with luxury bed linen and towels, we have a large well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals, a beautiful spacious and sunny lounge with comfortable dining area, fabulous garden, fast Wifi and lots of parking in a safe and secure area. We guarantee when you try us - you will love us.
Do you have parking and is it chargeable?
Yes - we have lots of free parking which is adjacent in a quiet area - suitable for all types of vehicles. We are also the only accommodation provider in the Barrow and Walney vicinity that has an EV charger.
Are you located in a quiet area.
Absolutely, we are located on a quiet and peaceful residential area on Walney just a short walk or 2 minute drive away from BAE and the windfarms. We guarantee you will have a better night sleep than with any other town centre alternatives.
Do you have a laundry service?
Yes we have a full laundry service with a 24 hour turnaround (but usually the same day!) we can wash your clothing and return it to your room at a time that suits you. Some guests leave their washing with us to be ready for work when they return on Monday.
Do you offer discounted rates?
Yes. We can always offer cheaper rates than the main online travel agencies – please call us directly if you have a query regarding a long stay and you can trial our facilities to see for yourself, we guarantee we are superior to any other alternatives in the area. Please call directly where we can arrange a no obligation tour of our house and grounds.
Do you have cooking facilities?
We have a fantastic large well-equipped kitchen that you can cook any meal imaginable, all our facilities are cleaned throughout the day by our dedicated housekeeping team and we have high levels of cleanliness you would not find anywhere else – our guests frequently comment on the ability to be able to prepare any meal and how convenient this is in comparison to eating out. All guests are allocated a fridge, freezer and cupboard for food and drinks and we supply complimentary condiments, various teas and freshly ground coffee.
Do you have a garden?
Yes - we have a large, beautiful sunny garden with seating area and sun-loungers should the weather permit, there is also complimentary BBQ facilities and a range of weights and kettlebells should you wish to use them for exercising.
If I am on business can I leave items over the weekend?
Yes absolutely - many of our guests keep their room over the weekend so they can store items without having to pack/unpack, this is a really convenient way for them to have a “home from home” base, guests are allocated their own personal room that they pay for on a weekly basis and we service on their departure day ready for their return – this has been an extremely popular choice for our business guests during the COVID 19 pandemic as it allows them to have full knowledge that they are the only ones using that space.
I am a female business guest? Is West Point House suitable for me?
Yes of course. West Point House has a great mix of guests - many of whom frequently return. We pride ourselves in welcoming new guests into our friendly community and we are staffed by a fabulous team of ladies who will look after your every whim. Our business clientele typically range from engineering professionals, medical postgraduates, offshore project managers, MOD police, mature students, psychology professors, journalists, photographers and nuclear physicists to name a few. We are sure that you will find West Point House a friendly and welcoming environment.
Is the WiFi fast?
Yes - we have free secure superfast broadband throughout all you need is the passcode which we will issue you upon arrival.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all bookings, however we also appreciate that certain work projects can be extremely unpredictable, we can tailor make cancellation policies based on your needs – these must be agreed in writing with management before any reservation commences.
Do you have storage for bikes?
Yes - we have secure storage to the exterior of the building in our outhouse.
Do you have a smoking area?
Yes, there is a designated area in the garden with a hut for shelter, we are happy for you to smoke outside in the garden - weather permitting, all we ask is that you dispose of the stub in the bins provided.
