West of Walney Island is one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms! - almost 200 turbines (at almost 200 metres tall) generate 1,000 megawatts, - enough electricity for 1,000,000 homes! For most they are just part of the western horizon, - the sunset view from Earnse Bay, or from the summit of Black Combe - For many of our guests at West Point House, they are their place of work, - operating & maintenance teams are onsite daily -  - offshore photographs care of Jimmy
