- a busy few days of viewings & applications for West Point's Beach Huts - we have now begun welcoming this spring/summer's guests - - West Point House meets Cumbria Tourism's criteria for 'quality & standards' (- again)! - "West point House is a well-maintained accommodation, offering excellent facilities with clean lines throughout"
- water quality of samples taken from West Shore, Biggar Bank & Sandy Gap have all been classified as 'Excellent' following an inspection by the Environment Agency
- up to twenty samples were taken per beach during 2021, with the newly published results showing the fantastic water quality surrounding our beautiful Walney Island, - importantly for our wild swimmers; all samples were clear of pollutants hazardous to health, - hailed as fabulous news for both residents & visitors alike, & reinforcing Walney’s position as home to the best beaches in the North West

Our clients include Bae Systems, James Fisher Marine, Orsted, Morecambe Bay Health Services, Centrica and Spirit Energy to name a few. Our reviews from our guests are testament to the quality and cleanliness of our accommodation and our fabulous staff, here are just a few snippets of what our guests (both business and leisure) have had to say about us -
As 2021 closes in and the Christmas decorations emerge from the loft; we decided to take time to reflect on the changes 2021 has brought to West Point House, in particular the addition of our Camping Yurts to a space now known as West Point Woods, - planted as woodland but lately becoming overgrown scrub being choked by brambles - work began in May this year to transform the dishevelled space, with the intention of creating an inspiring and bio diverse leisure area for our guests to enjoy the warm Walney Summers and crisp Winters - “We wanted to take the space and really think about how it could work with all the existing wildlife Walney is home to - our Island has a huge habitat for native and migratory birds and rare reptiles, boasting two of the UK’s most significant wildlife sanctuaries at the North and South ends, - it is important to us that we embrace this and a lot of thought has been given to making the space as bird, and insect friendly (especially for our bees and other pollinators) as possible, with bunds for basking lizards (we love our slow worms), and bird and bat boxes to encourage nesting, - in the Spring we aim to sow a variety of native wildflowers, and plant 'safe haven' entwined vegetation and blossoming fruit trees, - we have huge plans for the outcome of the woods - it’s going to be a fantastic space hosting an abundance of wildlife” - Rachael; Manager West Point Woods is aiming to be fully completed by March 2022 - please check our Facebook page for regular updates on progress - www.facebook.com/WestPointWoodsWalney
